After Google’s December update, I lost ability to make phone calls on bluetooth. This happened on my car, my wife’s car, and my sony headphones.
Thankfully, it an easy fix. Go to Settings –> Developer Options –> Disable Bluetooth A2DP Hardware Offload.
You will have to restart. Afterward everything worked for me.
If you don’t have Developer Options, then you will need to enable the menu.
